How do I book the classes?
You can book a class directly with your local franchisee or if more convenient you can book on line. You can find your nearest class here.
↑ return to FAQ listWill my child get individual attention?
There is usually a maximum of 16 children in a class. In the Rhythm Time sessions we have a trained class leader and an assistant. The assistant will ensure that everything runs smoothly and efficiently, which means that the leader is free to concentrate on the children in the class. The class leader is monitored carefully and has ongoing training so that standards are kept very high.
↑ return to FAQ listDo I have to enrol my child at the beginning of a term or are you flexible?
While we believe that a child gets most benefit by attending for the full course, we realise that this is not always possible. Therefore, you can enrol your child at any time during the term and can be assured that both of you will receive a special welcome.
↑ return to FAQ listWhen are the classes run?
Classes are normally run during term time in order to make sure that you have the time to deal with other commitments during school holidays. Some areas run summer classes as well.
↑ return to FAQ listHow long are the classes?
Children and babies can concentrate for only a short time so we have action packed half hour classes with lots of short duration activities.
↑ return to FAQ listWhere do you run the classes?
Classes are usually run in Church Halls or Community Centres and now the courses are taught in many nurseries and even reception classes in schools.
↑ return to FAQ listWhat is the course content?
All the classes have been created by Kathy Doolan (DRSAM, LRAM), a music teacher who trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. While Rhythm Time is certainly great fun, it is much more than just a sing-along. It is a well thought out musical experience which uses lots of exciting songs and activities to help a child's development. ↑ return to FAQ listWhat type of classes do you operate?
It is very important to offer material which is appropriate to the age of the children in the class since they are all at different stages developmentally. For instance a 3 year old needs more challenging material than a baby. Therefore for your child to get the most out of their pre-school music experience, Rhythm Time offers three age appropriate courses, namely:
- Baby (2 months to 15 months)
- Toddler (15 months to 3 years)
- Pre-school (3 years to 5 years)
All courses dovetail with the National Curriculum.
↑ return to FAQ listWhat is Rhythm Time's philosophy?
At Rhythm Time we believe that music is fundamental to a child's development. We believe that every child is inately musical and that this ability should be given the chance to flourish.
