Happiness is life set to music

Laura Justice

Hello, my name is Laura and I'm really excited to have taken over the  Rhythm Time franchise in Wharfedale, Craven and Keighley district. I took my twins to Rhythm Time in Skipton for two years. They absolutely loved the classes and are both now very excited at the prospect of Rat a Tat (our friendly listening bunny) coming to live with us!

I have been working as a freelance professional recorder player (yes, you did read that right!) for the last 15 years since graduating from The Royal College of Music. I had four fantastic years studying there and have been making my living from teaching recorder to all ages and abilities, performing with chamber groups and occasionally orchestras, and even ending up as editor of The Recorder Magazine. After having had a break with my two toddlers and looking for a new teaching challenge the Rhythm Time opportunity came at the perfect time, with my twins approaching nursery age.

I love singing with my two little ones and can't wait to share the wonders of music and singing with other families through Rhythm Time. I might even have to sneak a recorder or two into classes occasionally!

When I'm not singing around the house or playing my recorders you might see me hanging off a rope somewhere (or more likely holding a rope for my husband) at Malham Cove or Kilnsey crag in the Yorkshire dales. I enjoy climbing, skiing, photography, going to the opera and my sewing machine - when I get the time!

Come and join in the fun...
