Hello, my name is Laura and I love running Rhythm Time Wharfedale, Craven and Keighley! I took my twins to Rhythm Time in Skipton for two years before I took over in 2017. They absolutely loved the classes and are both now very excited that Ratatat (our friendly listening bunny) lives with us!

Before Rhythm Time I worked as a freelance professional recorder player (yes, you did read that right!) since graduating from The Royal College of Music in London. I had four fantastic years studying there and had been making my living from teaching recorder to all ages and abilities, performing with chamber groups and occasionally orchestras, and even ending up as editor of The Recorder Magazine!

I love singing with my two little ones and can't wait to share the wonders of music and singing with other families through Rhythm Time. I might even have to sneak a recorder or two into classes occasionally!

When I'm not singing around the house or playing my recorders you might see me hanging off a rope somewhere (or more likely holding a rope for my husband) at Malham Cove or Kilnsey crag in the Yorkshire dales. I love photography, climbing, skiing, going to the opera and my sewing machine - when I get the time!

“My 3 year old son has been attending his Rhythm Time class for four months now. He absolutely loves it and spends much of the week between classes singing through the songs covered with great enthusiasm. As a parent I am delighted with the whole concept of Rhythm Time and love to see how involved the children get. As a professional musician myself I am very impressed with the energy, variety, structure and imagination each session offers. I thoroughly recommend Rhythm Time as it is one of the best introductions to music that a pre-school child can enjoy.”

“The session we had for my son's first birthday was excellent and involved both adults and children. We had a few 1 year olds and 4 year olds and Lynne did a stirling job ensuring that both age groups were entertained appropriately. Our Rhythm Time party was fantastic and I would recommend this to anyone. Especially entertaining for the younger age group.”

“Me and my 12 week old son have just finished the Young Baby Course in Ilkley and it has been so much fun! I wasn't sure how much my baby would respond being so young but it is a great introduction to music, noises and gives you tips on what you can do at home for their development. I would highly recommend the course and we are looking forward to next term! Thank you Laura!”

 —Natalie, Ilkley

“Both my boys have loved rhythm time. There are always new songs to learn and lots of different objects and instruments to play with - my youngest particularly likes jumping through the hoops!”

 —Alison, Skipton

“Had our first class at central hall, Keighley. It was great and Millie enjoyed it. Laura was friendly and a bundle of energy, just what you need to feel relaxed and encouraged in a new environment, where you’re meeting new people and singing along. I would recommend to other mums who are looking for a fun class with music, movement and stimulation for your baby.”

 —Kirsty, Keighley

“Eli and Iris love coming to Rhythm Time to spend time with their friends. It’s a big part of their week. Granni and Grandad love it too!”

 —Gerry, Skipton

“My son attends these classes and he loves It. He looks forwards to singing, moving and meeting up with the friends that he had made through the class. Laura is an enthusiastic teacher who gets everyone involved. We're hoping to keep rhythm time part of our weekly schedule for a long-time to come.”

 —Chris, Baildon

“It's great fun for baby and mummy. So worth it, done young baby now going on to bigger baby course.”

 —Pritricia, Keighley

“Feedback from A fun-filled Rhythm Time party I hosted on Saturday... "Excellent party - kept a group of 16 children aged 2-6 enthralled, as well as two babies! Well organised and structured, good range of songs/games/activities. Made our party go with a swing - thank you! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for some fun entertainment for a memorable preschool birthday party." There you are folks, give me a ring (well in advance!!) if you are thinking of having a Rhythm Time party for your little one. xx”

“I took my 10 week old son to Sam’s Rhythm Time class in Guiseley for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. She was very knowledgeable on how best to help little ones develop, with explanations about the activities we did, but all done in a really fun, easy-to-access way. It was lovely to have a chance for a cuppa as part of it afterwards as well with other parents - a good opportunity to chat.”

 —Helly, Guiseley

Come and join in the fun...
