News: Rhythm Time Raises Record Amount For Humphrey's Pyjama Week

Director of Fundraising receiving cheque from Kathy

Children attending Rhythm Timemusic classes for babies, toddlers and pre-school have raised a fantastic total of £5,073.79. The children ranging in age from babies, toddlers through to pre-school children, had great fun wearing their favourite pyjamas to their weekly Rhythm Time classes. They also had a surprise visitor – a life size Humphrey from Humphrey’s Corner, who is the official sponsor of Humphrey’s Pyjama Week.

The Children’s Trust is a national charity working with children who have multiple disabilities and complex health needs. In addition to the leading intensive rehabilitation centre at Tadworth, they have a national outreach programme working with children all over the UK. It is 25 years since The Trust began and in this silver anniversary year they are aiming to raise record funding for their outreach programme, extension of their existing premises and looking to build a second centre. To mark this year, The Trust has teamed up with Humphrey’s Corner to support Humphrey’s pyjama week. Schools, nurseries and pre-school activities nationwide supported this event. In July of this year a new £7m rehabilitation centre was opened by writer and broadcaster Richard Hammond who is also the Vice-President of The Children’s Trust. Having sustained a serious brain injury himself, he knows the importance of the work of The Children’s Trust. To find out more about The Children’s Trust and fundraising ideas you can log onto:

Rhythm Time owner and founder Kathy Doolan said: “The children and staff had great fun wearing their favourite pyjamas to their classes and everyone was pleased to see Humphrey. The children also got to take away a Humphrey’s Corner activity pack and certificate as a momento of the day which they loved. This is a great charity for us to support as a company and we were thrilled to raise so much for such a great cause. We were delighted that the Director of Fundraising for The Children’s Trust could come and visit our classes.”
