Laura Barker - Winner of Small Business of the Year 2019

Laura Barker, Rhythm Time Franchisee for Newcastle upon Tyne, has won Small Business of the Year 2019 in the prestigious Family Network Business Recognition National Awards.


Laura, who runs music classes for babies and toddlers across Newcastle upon Tyne is delighted with her award. " I am absolutely over the moon to have won this award! Setting up my own franchise business has allowed me to juggle a successful career whilst having the flexibility to enjoy family life with my young children. It has been a dream come true and achieving recognition from The Family Network at the awards ceremony really is the icing on the cake! 🎵Rhythm Time launches 'National Early Years Music Week'

The end of January is set for the inaugural 'National Early Years Music Week' and over 12,000 children are already signed up to join in.   From Monday 28th January to Friday 1st February, Rhythm Time founder and MD, Kathy Doolan and her team of 45 franchisees across the UK, will be leading the fun music activities for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. 

During this special week across the UK, Rhythm Time classes will be full of special activities as Kathy and her dedicated team celebrate the benefits of music for early years development.

Local mum hits the high notes with a new musical career!

Rhythm Time, the award-winning Children’s music franchise group, welcomes Lucy Caroll this New Year as the latest franchisee to join their growing network of classes.  Lucy, a Primary and Early Years Teacher with a lifelong passion for music, will be taking over the highly successful classes in the Stockport and High Peak areas.


“I attended Rhythm Time classes with my children and they absolutely loved them. It was genuinely rewarding to see the benefits of Rhythm Time and to watch my children grow in confidence and ability,” says Lucy. “When the opportunity arose to to take over the local music franchise, I jumped at the chance”.This new role enables Lucy to channel her talents and passion for music within a flexible, rewarding career that fits around her young family.

Rhythm Time, the award winning children’s music franchise group that provides high quality developmental music classes for the Under 5s, is delighted to welcome local musical mum, Claire Drewe Smith to its growing franchise family.  Claire who for the past six years has been working as a class teacher for Rhythm Time, will be taking over the highly successful classes in North Cheshire.


The music sessions have been written by a qualified music teacher and are thoughtfully curated using musical activities to facilitate early child development. Starting with stimulating baby classes, the courses lead on to exciting and educational toddler and pre-school classes. There are also Young Baby Courses that have been created for very young babies from birth to six months.

The winners for the prestigious 2018 national ‘What’s On 4 Kids Awards’’ were recently revealed at an inspiring, high profile ceremony, hosted by Natwest at their impressive Bishopgate location in London. Kathy Doolan, Founder & MD of Rhythm Time was delighted to receive the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ during the afternoon of celebrations. The Business awards are designed to recognise the leading classes and clubs for children and the inspiring professionals leading them across the UK.


The event was made even more special with the fabulous Dick and Dom, popular Childrens TV presenters, who helped to facilitate the awards and provided lots of humorous photo opportunities!

Half the wheels, twice the fun for Rhythm Time franchisee, Vicky Taramasco who cycled from London to Paris in 4 days

Vicky who runs Rhythm Time’s highly successful classes in South Birmingham and Worcestershire for the under 5s recently completed an amazing achievement in aid of Birmingham Children's hospital.  Vicky and fellow cycle enthusiasts cycled 283 miles in a ride that took them from the streets of London to the Eiffel Tower in Paris!


Vicky who previously worked as a nurse on the oncology department at Birmingham Childrens Hospital has continued to develop a strong association with the Hospital by running Rhythm Time music sessions in some of the wards, and enabling young patients to enjoy the musical activities. The Rhythm Time sessions are structured so that they can adapt to suit the needs of every child.  Vicky and her dedicated team of teachers at Rhythm Time are very active in the local community and when the cycling opportunity presented itself, Vicky was very keen to support the worthwhile cause.
